Mrs. Jessica Alexander

Hey Parkwood Families, I am Jessica Alexander, aka Mrs.A. I'm a Charleston, SC native and mama of two silly boys and two mischievous pups. I'm a lover of all things coastal/tropical and a science & art enthusiast. I started my teaching journey in 2003, my senior year of high school, as a teacher cadet. I was awarded a SC Teaching Fellows Scholarship. I then received my Bachelor of Science in Health & Human Performance with concentrations in Teacher Education and Spanish from College of Charleston. I became a credentialed teacher in 2007. In 2009, I returned to C of C to complete graduate coursework in Early Childhood, Pre K-3rd. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree as a Science Specialist at ECU and am part of a STEM cohort.

My husband's active duty Naval career has afforded me the opportunity to teach K5-3rd in Charleston, SC, Pre K in San Diego, CA, and most recently, 2nd & 3rd in Pensacola, FL. There I also stood as my school's STEAM curriculum coordinator- implementing lessons infused with science, technology, engineering, fine arts, and math. This is my third year teaching 2nd at Parkwood. I am excited to ignite a love for learning each year with a class full of talented, positive, and engaged learners. Thank you for trusting me with the gift of teaching and caring for your kiddo. I consider it an honor and a privilege. Now let's get busy exploring, dreaming, and discovering together!
