Mrs. Kimberly Frazier

Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year! My name is Kimberly Frazier. I am so excited about beginning my 8th year of teaching and my first year at Southwest High School. Teaching is my third career, my heart, and my passion. I began as a firefighter/paramedic in a suburb of Chicago. Then I started a family and decided to go to college.  I attended Wayne Community College where I took all the math and science classes they had to offer and finished with my Associates in Science and Associates in Art. I was also a tutor in their Academics Skills Department. Shortly after that, I became a law enforcement officer, which I greatly enjoyed. I then returned to college, completed my undergraduate degree in Middle Grades Education; math and science.  After graduating from East Carolina University in 2015 (I am the first person in my family to graduate from college), I began working for Wayne County School District and was the Beginning Teacher of the year in 2018.  During my time with WCPS, I also completed my graduate degree in Instruction and Curriculum, concentration in STEM, in 2018. I am married to an amazing man and together we have five children; NeCole, Ty-ree, Mikaela and husband Joe (USMC), Max (US Army), and Izabelle. Outside of school, I am very involved in my church, enjoy fishing EVERY chance I get, and kayaking. I look forward to a blessed, safe, and healthy school year.
