My teaching career began 21 years ago, but I've worked in the education field for more than 30 years! During my professional career, I've had the pleasure of teaching preschool as well as grades 2, 3, 4, & 7 in five different states.  Queens Creek Elementary was my home for seven years, where I taught grades 2 and 4.  Then, I moved to Swansboro Middle School to teach ELA and Social Studies for three years.  I’m excited to begin my next adventure at Swansboro High School teaching Civics Literature!  I absolutely LOVE teaching! I'm especially passionate about social studies and environmental education.

Originally, I'm from Kentucky, the Bluegrass State, and I've lived in eight different states altogether!  I've been blessed with two fabulous daughters, four wonderful grandchildren, one silly Golden Retriever, several curious cats, and some clucky chickens. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my family & friends, rescuing critters, traveling, reading, hiking, going to the beach, and enjoying nature.
