I went to Slippery Rock University in Western Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Music Education and a Minor in Exceptionalities. Recently, I received my Orff-Schulwerk level 2 certification at UNCW and am excited with how implementing this approach in teaching music has truly changed my students.
I moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina in December 2008 to teach and have been at Silverdale Elementary ever since.
Not only do I teach for Onslow County Schools, but I am also a lifeguard for Marine Corps Community Service as well as a Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and Water Safety Instructor Trainer teaching both swim lessons and lifeguarding classes.
With my two passions being water and music, I am currently in my 14 year of teaching at Silverdale Elementary School where every single day is a new adventure. I have an amazing team that I get to work with along with wonderful students. Music for me is not just about an understanding, it’s about a feeling.
I currently live in Jacksonville with my husband, my beautiful daughter and our three dogs, Houie, Pearl and Murphy
Where words fail, music speaks!
