Welcome back. We hope you had an enjoyable break. Face to face classes resume tomorrow, January 5th for Cohort A students and all 5th grade students. Cohort B students will resume online. Wednesdays will continue to be virtual through March per the central office.
Circumstances have us starting the new semester with a shortage of bus drivers. Unfortunately, this means that there will inevitably be some late buses in the mornings and afternoons. The transportation coordinator will make every effort to make sure any bus changes or delays are sent out on the messaging system and posted on the OCS website. Please check the DMS Facebook page or the DMS website for the link. We ask for your patience and understanding.
If your child borrowed a guitar for the Fall semester, it needs to be returned as soon as possible.
Child Nutrition will continue to offer free meals for the remainder of the school year.
Report Cards will go home for Cohort A and 5th grade on January 11th and will go home for Cohort B on January 14th.
Mid-year assessment will begin tomorrow, January 5th.
Remember to preorder your yearbook. This is the best way to ensure you will receive a copy. Preorders must be made by March 1st. All orders are completed online at Jostens.com. Books are now $35.00.
5th grade parents schedule reminder......To address ongoing concerns over COVID 19, the Onslow County Board of Education approved returning the three Wednesdays in December (the 2nd, 9th and 16th) to remote learning days. This will allow for the continuation of established cleaning, instructional and planning routines through the end of December. This is simply a reminder......This information was shared via the County office back in November. We will see all 5th grade students back on campus Thursday December 3rd.
For an accurate reflection of your child's grades and completed assignments, please refer to Powerschool. You can access Powerschool through your parent portal account. You can also access current grades through your child's computer. Have them log into Powerschool on their school computer and pull up their grades.
- Students may not be dropped off in the morning. They must remain in their car until a staff member has checked their temperature. Students arriving late must have a parent come to the door and remain with their child until their temperature has been taken.
- Make sure you have reviewed the student/parent handbook.
- Please review the dress code with your student.
- If you have questions about logging on to your child's class, please email your child's teacher. The front office is not able to answer questions about logging on or TEAMS.
If you have questions about transportation, please visit the district website, click on the School/Bus Schedule and enter your address.
If you have further questions, contact the Dixon area bus coordinator at 910-347-6708. Students riding the bus are required to wear face coverings at all times.
