• COLT CALL 11/23/20

Good Evening Parents, students and staff,

This is Joycelyn Cassidy, principal of SWM with your Colt Call for the week of 11.23 to 12.04.

This weekend’s Colt Call is very brief. We only have two days of school next week. There is no school on or Remote Learning on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving Break. Students return to school on Monday, 11/30. I am wishing everyone a relaxing and safe Holiday. The next Colt Call will be on 12.06.

Math 1 Benchmarks will begin on Monday, 11/30 for Cohort A and Thursday, 12/03 for Cohort B. Attendance is very important because we will only have 1 day for makeups for each cohort.

We have a new staff member joining our 8th grade team. Upon our return after Thanksgiving Mr. Marshall will be fully engaged with classes and students on 11/30. Mr. Marshall is a SWH graduate who obtained his teaching degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. We are looking forward to Mr. Marshall as a new Colt member. Parents, please be aware that any changes to the schedule to build classes will be made in the students’ best interest and will be effective 11/30.

When we return, be on the look out for our second installment in out Tech Tip Series. The topic focus is the iReady pathways.

    Mark Your Calendar:

The second set of progress reports for the 2nd grading period for cohort B was distributed this past Friday and cohort A will be distributed on 11/24. The end of the grading period for the first semester and current marking period is 12/18.

Exclusion dates for the documentation of NC Health Assessments, Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines has been extended through 12/30/20. If you need information on where you can get the required vaccinations, please call the school nurse on Tuesdays and Thursdays at SWM.

And finally, please remember we are still collecting any unpaid fees. They can be paid either online or you can send in cash, check or money order to the school.

This ends our Colt call, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and your Holiday Break. Goodbye.
