    Dear Parents,

    I hope you had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving holiday!  I am excited to see the students tomorrow. 

    Students will have their Christmas Party on Friday, December 20th. I am therefore soliciting your help to make this a reality. I will be using the sign up genius app to let you know a list of the things  that will be needed for this party.

    Below you will find information about our classroom/school happenings as well as what students will be working on this week.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Have a wonderful week!

    Here is what we are working on this week:

    Math: This week students will begin learning about division.   Please continue to review multiplication facts with your child. 

    Reading: Our focus this week will be determining the main idea of a text and finding supporting details. 

    Science:  Students will continue to learn about the human body.

    Social Studies:  This week, we will continue our unit of government.  Students will learn about the three branches of government – executive, judicial, and legislative. 

    Word Study:  Students will work on ing and ed verbs.  They will have a test on Friday. Words will be posted in One Note.

    Dear Parents!

    This is a very short week. We will only be in school for two days. 

    We will not be starting any new topics this week. Students will have the same spelling words from last week and they will continue with Addition and Subtraction in Mathematics.

    Dear Parents,

    I do hope that you have had a wonderful weekend. Please find below the thinks which we will be working on. 

    Here is what we are working on this week:

    Math: This week we will review estimation; subtraction across zeros; and two-step word problems.   Please continue to review multiplication facts with your child.    

    Reading: Our focus this week will be on Compare and Contrast.STudents should be able to read and compare informational texts. For their nightly reading log, students will read the stories posted in One Note and they will make their comparisons.

    Science:  We are continuing with our unit on the human body. Students will learn about the three types of joints - ball and socket; hinge; and gliding.  

    Social Studies:  This week, we will continue our unit of government.  Students will learn about the three branches of government – executive, judicial, and legislative. 

    Word Study:  Spelling words this week are "igh,i-e, y

    Dear Parents,

    I hope you have had a great weekend!  Please note the following:

    -Report cards will go home on Tuesday.  Please sign the envelope and return with your child on Wednesday.  You may keep the report for your records. 

    -Picture retakes will be Wednesday, November 6thIf you would like your child to retake his/her picture, please send me a note or an email. 

    Please note that if you have note yet signed up for a conference, please do so.

    Here is what we are working on this week:

     

    Math: We will spend this week solving two-step word problems using addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Students will be assigned Home Work in One Note this week. If there are any questions, don’t hesitate to send me an email.

     

    Reading: Our focus this week will be comparing and contrasting texts.  They will also continue to work on character traits.

     

    Science:  We are continuing with our unit on the human body. Students will do a quiz on Friday.

     

    Word Study:  Spelling words this week are “er and or” sound.  Please make sure students are studying their spelling words nightly in preparation for Friday’s spelling test.

    Social Studies: Students will continue to look at Government. They will be making comparisons between various countries.

    Hello Parents! Let me hope that you have had a good weekend. 

    Please note that phones are NOT allowed inside my class. 

    The PBIS celebration this quarter will be a PBIS Costume Dance Celebration on Thursday, October 31st.  Students may wear their Halloween costume to school.  Please ensure the costume does not have any gore, blood, weapons, or inappropriate words on clothing.   Students are not permitted to wear masks with their costumes.

     Report - Week of October 14-18, 2019

     

     

    Dear Parents,

    I hope you had a great weekend!  I will be posting times and dates for availability for conferences ASAP.  

    Below you will find information about our classroom/school happenings as well as what students will be working on this week.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Have a wonderful week!

     

    Here is what we are working on this week:

     

    Math: This week students will be learning about data – representing and interpreting information in a frequency table, picture graph, and bar graph.  We will continue to review multiplication/division facts.  

     

    Reading: Our focus this week will be character traits – describing characters in a story and explaining how their actions contribute to the sequence of events

     

    Science:  We will be doing the skeleton. Students will be working on a project where they will be asked to label the skeleton and write about it.

     

    Social Studies:  This week, students will learn about various water/landforms (mountains, valleys, island, peninsulas, etc.). 

     

    Word Study:  Students will be learning how to pluralize words ending in ch, s, sh,x. Spelling test will be on Friday.

    Dear Parents,

    Below you will find information about our classroom/school happenings as well as what students will be working on this week.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Have a wonderful week!

     

    Here is what we are working on this week:

     

    Math: We will continue with the distributive property in multiplication. We will also be looking at the associative property and other patterns/strategies used to multiply.-Array, Grouping, repeated addition, numberline

    Students should ensure that they know their multiplication facts. We will continue with our unit on multiplication.  

    Reading: Our focus this week will be context clues - determining the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in the text. 

    Word Study:  Students will look at aw words. Students will learn dictionary skills and use these words to complete sentences. 

    Writing:  Students will continue with narrative writing. they will also be learning about paragrapgh. They will write 1 or 2 paragraph. 

    Science and Social Studies: Students will continue with contients, they will learn about landforms. 

    PROJECT: Students are expected to do a project in SWAY on the continent assigned to them. Students are expected to: Create a video-Students are expected to talk about their continent in the video. 

    Identify a map of their continent

    Write a paragraph about the continent 

    This project is worth 20 points

     

    GENERAL HOME WORK: STUDENTS SHOULD BE READING NIGHTLY AND THEY SHOULD ALSO BE STUDYING THEIR MULTIPLICATION FACTS.

    • Hello Parents! 

    Let me hope that you had a great week and that you are prepared for all the positive things which are ahead of us. 

    Please note the following things:

    Students are given a five minutes snack time at 2pm, please provide your child with a healthy snack.

    The days are very hot, therefore please provide your child with a bottle of water EVERYDAY.

    If you do not have an account for powerschool, please check with the office so that you can gain access to check your child's grades. 

     

    -Laptops have been assigned to students.  They will be able to go home as soon as: the students have taken the BOG, school fees have been paid, internet and 1:1 forms have been signed, and a parent/guardian has completed the digital agreement.

    Parents are expected to pay their child’s school fee. It is a total Thirty-One Dollars ($31:00).  Also, parents are asked to complete the 1:1 Parent Orientation online.  You are asked to watch the video and read information at the links provided on the page below.

     After viewing/reading the video/policy links, you are asked to complete an online form with your child's information and acknowledgement that they have done so and agree. (That is if you have not yet done so.)

     Our Focus this week includes:

    Writing: Narratives-Sudents will be writing different stories using the narrative skills taught.

    ELA: Context Clues

    Math: Multiplication-Students will be learning different strategies that can help them to multiply one and two digit numbers.

    Science/Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about maps and globes and landforms
