I attended Onslow County Schools from 3rd grade through high school. I went to Coastal Carolina Community College and received an Associate in Arts degree. I then attended UNCW to receive my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education K-6. Since graduating from UNCW, I have added Teaching Math Grades 6-9, AIG Grades K-12, and Teaching Reading Grades K-12 to my license. I also graduated from ECU with a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology. I enjoy learning and strive to stay on top of the newest and best ways to teach my students.
This school year will be my 23rd year working with Onslow County Schools. After starting out as a Title I Tutor at Richlands Elementary, I was then 3rd grade Teacher Assistant at Richlands Elementary for 6 years while completing my education degree. I completed my internship in 4th grade at Blue Creek Elementary and finished out the year there teaching 5th grade. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, as well as, Reading Enrichment at Richlands Elementary. I am currently the AIG Specialist for Richlands Elementary and Heritage Elementary. I enjoy my job and see it as a challenge to make education fun and meaningful for my students.
