Welcome to 8th Grade!        

My name is Charlotte Johnson and I am very excited about this new school year. This will be my 21st year with Onslow County Schools.  This is my sixth year at Swansboro Middle School. Previously, I taught at the elementary level and 6th grade math and science here at Swansboro Middle.  Currently, I am an 8th grade science teacher.

I live on Emerald Isle with my amazing husband where we spend many weekends on the beach enjoying the view.  My husband and I have four grown children.  In my free time, I like to read, walk my dog, lounge at the beach and spend time with family and friends. My passion is education but my obsession is “chocolate and coffee".  I'll never pass on a Starbuck's White Chocolate Mocha!!!

 I enjoy teaching and strive to give all students the opportunity to reach their highest level of achievement.  I will accomplish this through effective, researched-based teaching practices, collaboration with colleagues, and the ongoing use of technology. My hope is to encourage the inquisitive nature of children and teach through inquiry and discovery. Most of all, learning in the classroom should be relevant and FUN!

With the combined effort of teachers, students, parents, and community, I feel we can create lifelong learners that are prepared for the challenges of our ever changing world.
