2021 NCMEA Elementary Honor Chorus
This year, the North Carolina Elementary Honors Chorus is a group of approximately 100 students who are chosen from across North Carolina to perform at the NCMEA Conference each year (North Carolina Music Educators Association).
The purpose of this Honors Chorus is to provide an opportunity for the very best singers from across the state (grades 4th and 5th) to come together and work with a nationally acclaimed choral conductor. During this weekend they will be able to develop their abilities to the greatest possible extent. The Honors Chorus will take place on November 6th and 7th in Winston Salem, NC.
I will be providing your child with the sheet music, so they can practice. An example of the song is located on this website: https://tinyurl.com/nchonors21
Auditions will need to be recorded and postmarked by September 15th, so afterschool rehearsals will start right away!
If chosen, your child will have more pieces of music to learn and will need to be able to put in the time into practicing. More information will follow if your child gets into the choir (in October).
If there are any questions – please email Mrs. Williams.
