AgDiscovery Summer Program http://www.aavmc.org/ag_discovery.aspx
AmeriCorps NCCC: AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, team-based, residential service program for young adults who want to give back to communities in need at different locations across the country. For 10 months, teams work on 4-7 projects, such as: engaging youth; building and rehabilitating homes for families in need; cleaning up parks, streams, trails, and shorelines; and helping communities recover from disasters. Members are assigned to one of four campuses across the country. During their service, members are provided housing, food, uniforms, and the equipment that they will need to be successful in the field. They will receive a modest bi-weekly living allowance for personal expenses and if they successfully complete the program, they are awarded a $6,345 Education Award. This award can be used for future tuition costs or to pay back student loans. AmeriCorps NCCC-FEMA Corps is a similar program. FEMA Corps is for young adults who want to gain professional skills in emergency management while serving with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) staff on disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts. FEMA Corps is a 12-month, full-time, team-based residential service program. http://www.americorps.gov/nccc.
