Dr. Lisa Ireland Peele

Director of Cultural Arts & Global Leadership

Dr. Lisa I. Peele has served North Carolina public education since 1999.  Her roles include teaching(3-8), school adminsitration(K-12), and district leadership. She currently serves as the Director of Cultural Arts and Global Leadership in the Onslow Country School District.  Onslow County Schools offers a wide variety of arts education and global opportunites for students.  Onslow County Schools is currently desginated as a Global-Ready District.  In 2017-2018, Dr. Peele was recognized by the North Carolina Art Education Association as the North Carolina Arts Education Arts Administator of the Year.  She maintains partnerships with local performing arts education and global organizations and companies, along with other community organizations.  She has a passion for education and is truly a lifelong learner.  Dr. Peele's educational background includes a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of School Administration degree from East Carolina University.  She received her Doctor of Education degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a focus on education administration.

She was born in eastern North Carolina and began her career in Pamlico County Schools, serving as an elementary and middle school music and choral teacher.  She also served Pamlico County High School as an assistant principal.  She is truly blessed to have served the Onslow County School System for the past fifteen years as an assistant principal, principal, Director of Cultural Initiatives, and the Director of Cultural Arts and Special Projects.  She believes that positive leadership truly matters and is valuable in all aspects of life.  Her leadership values of intergrity, trust, and perservenece continue to guide her each and every day.
