"How do you incorporate music into your life at home?"
Over the past year and a half, we've all been spending a lot of time stuck at home! Mrs. Dundore decided to ask her friends and family to share with you how they are using music while they're at home! You'll see that some people are listening to music, some of them are playing music, some are dancing...but ALL of them said that music is definitely a part of their time at home! Isn't it great to see music being used in so many ways by so many people? I hope you enjoy meeting my friends! :)

Miss Yoshida
Mrs. Dundore & Miss Yoshida know each other from taking music classes one summer at UNCW! Miss Yoshida lives all the way across the country in Los Angeles, California! She's a music teacher for several of the schools in the LA Unified School District. During the quarantine, she's been listening to music while putting puzzles together!

Miss Bani
Mrs. Dundore grew up going to church with Miss Bani! She lives in Tallahassee, Florida where she is a graduate student in musicology - that means she likes to do research all about music! While stuck at home, Miss Bani likes listening to Irish music to cheer herself up, playing with ensembles through Zoom, and building silly instruments to make herself and her roommates laugh! In this video, Miss Bani plays a bagpipe she made out of a garbage bag and tin whistle - what instruments can you make from things around your house?

Mr. Mark Dundore
Mr. Mark Dundore is Mrs. Dundore's brother-in-law and Mr. Dundore's older brother! He lives in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania where he gives music lessons, plays tuba in an orchestra, and works for Amazon. As you can see, Mr. Mark has the "Essential Employee Blues" and wishes he could stay home and play music instead of going to work! Here he is playing the piano and the harmonica at the same time!

Mr. Spangler & Mrs. Sweigert
Mr. Spangler and Mrs. Sweigert are married and are the Dundores' friends from high school! They live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and recently had a baby! Mr. Spangler is a Communications Manager at the Lancaster County Community Foundation and Mrs. Sweigert works for the School District of Lancaster. While they're at home, they enjoy singing duets! Watch how they connect when they sing by looking at each other and smiling. Their voices blend perfectly together, don't you think? You will love their version of Gillian Welch & David Rawlings' song "Orphan Girl".

Mrs. Shenk
Mrs. Shenk is Mrs. Dundore's first band teacher! She taught Mrs. Dundore about music and how to play the flute in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. While Mrs. Shenk is at home in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, she makes lists to stay motivated and likes to practice her trumpet every day in her music room! What else is on her lists? Watch to find out!
