BA in Early Childhood Education

Mrs. Amanda-Joy Esemann

Hi! My name is Mrs. Joy Esemann and I have been teaching since 2007. I graduated from The University of South Carolina with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Since graduation, I have taught middle school, Exceptional Children Pre-K and 1st grade. I have also been a mentor teacher for classroom management and positive behavior instruction.

With every year that I work as an educator, my passion for this field grows. Every day I consider myself lucky to spend time with these young minds; not only to help them grow and learn but facilitate that. I strive to set expectations for my students that I know are obtainable and differentiated according to each of their needs. . My passion is to see each student not only succeed, but succeed far greater than they ever imagined.

I am married to my wonderful husband Michael and have been since 2007. We have 2 precious red-heads, Ella who is in 5th grade and Evan who is 5. Michael is a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy and after being stationed at Camp Lejeune for 10 years, we were sent to Charleston, S.C. While we loved living there for 3 years, I am beyond excited to be back in Onslow County and part of this Pirate Crew!! When I am not at school or one of Ella's gymnastics competitions, my family enjoys taking hikes, roadtrips and being out on our boat.
