Welcome to 2nd Grade!

We have a wonderful 2nd Grade Team at Dixon Elementary School! I am so happy to be a part of your child's year. 

I believe in learning through teamwork and interactive activities. Children learn best when they are engaged and excited about the curriculum. We will learn math, phonics, reading, content knowledge, and science in fun, creative ways to encourage academic development. We will have music, storytime, independent or partner reading, and plenty of movement breaks to keep our active bodies and active minds engaged.

I graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and American Intercontinental University with a Master's Degree in Education.  I have taught preK, kindergarten, and first grade over the past ten years in both private and public schools. This is my first year at DES and my first year teaching second grade. 

My husband and I are a blended family with four beautiful children between us. My children are in middle school and college, my stepchildren are in middle school and high school. I love spending time with my family, visiting with friends, reading, music, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors.
