My name is Joe Thompson, and I am UBER excited to be returning to Silverdale Elementary School!

I have both a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Canisius College, and  Elementary Education Degree from Queens University of Charlotte.   This will be my second stint at Silverdale Elementary School, with the first time extending over 13 years.  The last two years, I was at Clyde Erwin Elementary School where I taught both fourth and fifth grade math.

I am an enthusiastic, committed educator with innate ability to understand and motivate children.   Helping each child increase their understanding and build their confidence within mathematics is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily.   I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, fun environment.  

Personally, I have been married to Melody for seven years and have one daughter and three step-daughters and two shih-tzu dogs, Cooper and Cocoa.  When I am not teaching I enjoy working out, attending live sporting events, and watching live music.
