• As of Sept. 30th, 2019, your child now has an agenda. Each day the students will copy their homework in their agenda. I will check the agenda, make sure it is filled out correctly, and then sign it. Your child will bring this agenda home each night in their STAR binder. Please review this agenda to make sure you are aware of what your child should be doing each evening.
This week we are focusing on our word study homework. Students have been given a "Weekly Word Study Choice Board" handout. We put this sheet on the inside cover of their word study journals yesterday. Students must complete ANY 4 assignments (one on Monday night, one on Tuesday night, one on Wednesday night, and one on Thursday night) during the week. These assignments are completed in their word study journals and students are reminded each day when packing up to take their journal home. If your child forgets their journal, the words are in their agenda also and I emailed the sheet yesterday of the assignments and have attached it again to this one (It might be a good idea to print a copy to have just in case). Each day I check to see if students completed an assignment, that it was completed correctly, and that words are spelled correctly. I have explained to students that if you have practice or a game during the week then you may want to double up one night as to make sure all homework is completed.
Next week we will be adding nightly reading requirements and occasionally math homework. Students can practice their math facts daily using the website https://xtramath.org/#/signin/classroom
XtraMath is a free program that helps students master addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.
.  Students use this site DAILY so they are familiar with it.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me. 🙂
