Hello Everyone,

I am excited about beginning my second year at Silverdale Elementary, teaching third grade. This will be my eighth year working in the Onslow County school system. I was previously a substitute for several years before becoming a teacher's assistant at Queens Creek Elementary. While at Queens Creek, I worked in diverse classroom settings, including all grade levels and exceptional needs. The last five years as a Teacher's Assistant were spent as the Computer Lab facilitator for Kindergarten through 5th grade. 

While working as a teacher's assistant, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development. After completing my Bachelor's degree, I attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington and attained my Masters in Elementary Education.

When I am not at school, I love to spend time with my family and my peek-a-poo Chuy. I am originally from Snow Hill, NC but moved to Jacksonville after marrying my husband, Rusty, who was a Marine then. After traveling some during his twenty years of service, I now reside in Swansboro. We have been married for 27 years and have two wonderful children. My daughter, Kaycee, is 26 and lives in Delaware with her husband. Trey is my son. He is 23 and just moved to Texas this summer. I also love reading books and watching movies in my spare time.

I aim to create a safe learning environment where every student feels valued and safe. A place to learn from their mistakes while also celebrating their accomplishments. I cannot wait to share my love of learning with your child.
