Stephanie Benson

     Hello students and families! Welcome to 1st grade! This is my first-year teaching at Coastal Elementary School, and I am very excited to be a part of the amazing school community!

      I moved to North Carolina a little less than two years ago.  While here, I taught 2nd grade in Jacksonville.  Prior to moving to NC, I lived and worked for D.C. Public Schools for 6 years.  I have been in the educational field for 18 years and throughout my career I have been a teacher in grades K, 1st, 2nd & 4th, an instructional coach, data specialist and test coordinator. 

      While not at work, I spend a lot of time with my dog Bella, who is a senior and wants every moment of my time.  I enjoy feeding and watching the backyard songbirds and collecting a bag of trash each time I take Bella to the beach for a walk.
