Students from all Onslow County High Schools were selected to attend the Onslow County Schools Future Teachers Conference held on October 8, 2026.  

This invitation was extended in recognition of student's interest in pursuing a career in education and their potential to become a future leader in our schools. 

Each of the local high schools have a Future Teachers of Onslow club.  These clubs meet regularly on campus and provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, engage in meaningful discussions about the field of education, and collaborate with peers who share similar goals.  In addition, club members may have the opportunity to participate in field trips to a local university. These visits will offer valuable insights into educator preparation programs, campus life, and the steps required to become a licensed teacher.

NC Teaching Fellows (NCTF) Application Cycle is currently open for the 2026-2027 academic year!  

Application Cycle: October 1, 2025 - January 31, 2026 (closes at midnight!) 
Early Action Deadline: November 1, 2025 (closes at midnight!) 

The Statewide NCTF program hosts virtual information and drop-in sessions. New dates will continuously be added to the home page on the website. If students are interested but unable to attend, please have them reach out to Crystal Espey, the NCTF Assistant Director at cnespey@northcarolina.edu. If they do not receive a response within 48 hours, please let them know to send a friendly follow-up.
