Congratulations Robert Whaley - Onslow County Schools NCCAT CTE Teacher of the Year! Mr. Whaley is an Automotive Body Repair teacher at the Eastern Regional Skills Center. He was nominated by the OCS district CTE teachers and he will go on to represent OCS as one of the 24 finalists in the NCCAT 2026 Burroughs Wellcome Fund NC Career & Technical Education Teacher of the Year. Sweet Success at the Chocolate Festival!!! We are thrilled to announce that one of our talented students from White Oak High School won 2nd place in the amateur cake baking contest at the Chocolate Festival in Morehead City! Her dedication and creativity shone through in her delicious creation, making her a standout among fellow bakers.

NCACTE Announces the 2024-2025 Leadership Fellows
Ocean Isle Beach, NC—Today, the North Carolina Association for Career and Technical Education (NCACTE) announced its 2024-2025 class of Fellows in the NCACTE Leadership Fellowship Program. Seven fellows were selected for the 2024 cohort. The program identifies and trains leaders. Participants complete the program with a strong desire and motivation to support an educated, prepared, adaptable and competitive workforce.
Fellows commit a calendar year to the NCACTE Leadership Fellowship Program, July 2024-July 2025. The 2024 class of fellows represent multiple NCACTE divisions. In addition to more experienced educators, this year’s fellowship class again includes a cohort of new professionals.
The 2024 cohort includes fellows:

Chad Holloman - Administration, Wake County Public Schools
Angelia Howard - Counseling & Career Development, Craven County Schools
Matt Low - Trade & Industrial Education, Onslow County Schools
Missy Swain - Administration, Perquimans County Schools
Amy White - Counseling & Career Development, Buncombe County Schools
Tracy White - Curriculum & Instructional Management, Edenton Chowan Schools
Dr. Julie Pack and Kelly Hoff were selected by the NCACTE Executive Committee to serve as the Fellowship Coordinators. Dr. Julie Pack has served as an ACTE National Leadership Fellow and Kelly Hoff has served as a NCACTE Leadership Fellow.
