- OCS utilizes a 3-day staggered enrollment for Kindergarten. This means that your child’s first day will be one of the first 3 days of school. Your child’s school will notify you which day your child should report for his/her first day.

8. Can my child attend Kindergarten this year if he/she reaches the age of 5 on or after September 1
- According to North Carolina law, your child must reach the age of five on or before August 31. The only exception to this is if a parent/guardian obtains early admission status for the child.

- Unless your child is selected to attend one of the elementary magnet programs or is approved for out of district, your child must attend school in his/her home district.
