Read to Achieve Summer Reading Camp
The OCS Read to Achieve Summer Reading Camp is an invitation-only camp designed to provide eligible students who were in third grade during the 2025-2026 school year with an opportunity to continue receiving literacy instruction over the summer. Eligibility criteria are established by the NC General Assembly, the NC State Board of Education, and the NC Department of Public Instruction.
Parents/guardians of eligible students will receive an invitation from their child’s school prior to the last day of the school year. Parents/guardians of students enrolled in Read to Achieve Summer Reading Camp will receive information regarding camp site location and transportation through email. Bus pick-up and drop-off locations will be posted prior to the first day of camp.
Late Registration
If your child received an invitation to RTA Summer Reading Camp and you missed the original application deadline, there may still be room for your child to attend camp. Student acceptance is based on eligibility and available space. Please note, parents must provide transportation for students who are registered late - no bus transportation will be provided. If you are unsure if your child is eligible, please reach out to his or her school. A “Late Registration Link” will be posted below at a later date.
