A Judge signed court document, adoption papers, or a document from Department of Social Services (DSS) stating that the child has been placed in your care would be needed for enrollment. 

Yes, we welcome children with special needs. 

Income requirements are set by the federal government and are changed each year.  Typically, families at or below the 130% of the federal poverty level or are receiving assistance benefits are generally meeting income requirements. The best way to know if your family qualifies is to submit an application. 

No, the Onslow County Schools Preschool Program does not require children to be potty trained for enrollment.

No, OCS and One Place collaborate to provide preschool services to families in Onslow County.  You should only complete one application.  Staff from One Place and/or OCS will contact you if additional documentation or information is needed. 

No, The Onslow County Online Preschool Pre-application may be completed from a computer or any mobile device.  If using auto-fill to complete the application, please be sure to verify all fields contain the correct information. 

No.  Once a pre-application has been started, you will not be able to stop and begin again later.  If you exit the application before it is completed and submitted, responses will not be saved. 

The pre-application will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.  Remember, you cannot start and begin again later, responses will not be saved. 

Use the "Previous" and "Next" buttons at the bottom of each page to navigate through the application.  DO NOT use the "Back" or "Refresh" buttons in your web browser, responses will not be saved. 

You will be assigned a case manager, who will contact you within approximately 10-14 business days via telephone and/or email.  The case manager will collaborate with the family to schedule a family interview, collect additional documentation that is needed and complete the application process. Please make sure your telephone number and email address are correct in the pre-application.

The Onslow County Online Preschool Pre-Application allows attachments to be in many formats, including PDF, DOC, DOCX, PNG, JPG, JPEG, and GIF.  The maximum file size for each attachment may not exceed 16MB.

Yes.  You may still submit a pre-application without uploading documents, but your pre-application will be incomplete. However, a case manager will be assigned to your child's pre-application and will assist you with the process. 

If you have trouble uploading documents in the pre-application, continue to submit the pre-application without documents.  Once a case manager is assigned, they will contact you to assist with how to upload your documents. 

Once your case manager has been assigned and has made contact, you will be able to ask questions and check the status of your application with your case manager via telephone or email. 

Once the case manager has conducted a family interview and gathered all required documents for the application, the application will be reviewed and processed.  Then you will be notified that your child's application was placed on the preschool waitlist.  There is nothing else for you to do at this time.  If your child is selected for preschool, you will be notified by the preschool staff.
