OCS Communications Recognized as NCSPRA Blue Ribbon Winner

The North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA) awarded its highest honors during the annual Blue Ribbon Awards ceremony on February 9, 2024, during a special event held in High Point.  

NCSPRA presented Blue Ribbon Awards to 35 school districts for their outstanding communication and public relations during 2023. 

The Blue Ribbon Awards are the highest honor presented by NCSPRA to school districts. The awards are given for outstanding communication in eight categories: 

• Marketing
• Digital Media Engagement
• Electronic Media
• Excellence in Writing
• Publications
• Image/Graphic Design
• Photography
• Special Events/Programs 

Individual entries earn either a gold, silver, or bronze level award.  

The OCS Community Affairs Department won awards in the following categories: 

Digital Media Engagement 

• Celebrating the Military Child – Gold Award 

Electronic Media 

• 2023 All-County Art – Gold Award
• 2023 Science Olympiad – Bronze Award
• 2023 Elementary MathCounts – Bronze Award 

Excellence in Writing 

• Raising the Bar – Silver Award
• Joint Statement on School Safety – Bronze Award 

Photography 

• I Missed You! – 1st Day of School 2023 – Gold Award
• Is That a Beak? – Gold Award
• I Knew You Could Do It! – Silver Award
• My Mentor, My Friend – Silver Award 

Special Events and Programs
