OCS Weekly Update

Hello, OCS Family! Check out the latest reminders, news, and updates from the district below.  

WORKDAY/HOLIDAY REMINDER 

We would like to remind our families that Monday, November 10 is a teacher workday. There will be no school for students. OCS will be closed for students and staff on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.  

We hope you all have a restful long weekend, and we encourage you to take time in the coming days to reflect on the significance of Veterans Day and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who have served our nation in the armed forces.  

SKILLS CENTER EVENT 

We invite our families and greater community to come out to the Eastern North Carolina Regional Skills Center on Saturday, November 8, for some family fun!   

This event will feature vendors, live music, food trucks, and more! Join us to learn more about the great vocational programs housed at the Skills Center.   

PARENT ACADEMY 

The next OCS Parent Academy session is on Thursday, November 13. Join us virtually at https://bit.ly/parentacademy25-26 to learn about the SAT exam and how to access a variety of scholarships, including opportunities from Big Future.    

FIRE SURVEY 

We all want a safer community for our families, neighbors, and first responders. Our partners at Onslow County are asking residents to take this Fire Survey: OnslowCountyNC.gov/FireSurvey. By providing your feedback, you can help guide the future of fire protection in Onslow County. 

FAFSA DRAWINGS 

Seniors, complete your FAFSA and enter for a chance to win prizes for your future dorm room!     

First, complete your FAFSA at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa, then log in at https://bit.ly/ocsfafsa25-26 to upload evidence and enter the drawings.    

The next drawing is Friday, November 14, so be sure to get your name in the hat!
