1:1 Program
The Onslow County Schools 1:1 Program empowers over 27,000 students across 43 schools by providing each student with a personal device every school year. Launched in 2014 and expanded to all grades (K-12) by 2020, this program transforms education by enabling personalized learning, fostering digital literacy, and ensuring equitable access to technology. Our resilience in the face of challenges like Hurricane Florence and COVID-19 underscores our commitment to uninterrupted learning for students, educators, and parents.

Program Overview
Since 2014, our 1:1 Program has evolved to meet the needs of our community:
- Initial Rollout:
- 2014-2015: Grades 7, 8, and 9 received laptops.
- 2015-2016: Grades 5 and 10 received laptops.
- 2016-2017: Grades 4, 6, and 11 received laptops.
- 2017-2018: Grades 3 and 12 received laptops, completing coverage for grades 3-12.
- Expansion Post-Hurricane Florence (2018-2019): After schools closed for months due to Hurricane Florence, we extended coverage to grades K-2 starting in the 2018-2019 school year, ensuring preparedness for remote learning.
- COVID-19 Readiness (2019-2020): With full K-12 coverage, we transitioned to remote learning with only one day of instruction missed, demonstrating our adaptability.
This program delivers:

- Digital Equity: Access to technology for all grades, supported by community WiFi.
- Digital Citizenship: Training in responsible use and online safety.
