AI Technology for High School Students
Introducing MagicSchool AI for Students as a supplemental learning tool for the 2025-2026 school year, building on our district's commitment to innovation and educational excellence.
👥Our Human-Centered Approach
Consistent with our guiding principles, this AI implementation maintains a human-centered design where technology serves as a complement to our educators, not a replacement. The use of AI by students will be strictly controlled and purposeful, occurring only when authorized by teachers for specific instructional objectives.
Technology as Enhancement, Not Replacement
Every AI interaction will be directly tied to learning goals and will enhance—never replace—the critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration that remain at the heart of education. Our teachers remain the most important factor in student success.
🎓MagicSchool AI for Students
We will be introducing MagicSchool AI for Students as a supplemental learning tool, building on our district's long-standing commitment to innovation and our acclaimed 1:1 laptop program. This platform has been specifically designed for K-12 educational environments.
Proven Success Through Pilot Programs
Following successful pilot programs conducted this spring at Onslow County Early College High School and select classrooms at Jacksonville High, Northside High, and White Oak High, we have carefully evaluated this technology's educational value and received very positive feedback from both teachers and students.

MagicSchool AI for Students provides robust safety features designed specifically for educational use. Our teachers have received comprehensive professional development on both the benefits and potential risks of AI use in education.
Complete Teacher Control
Teachers have complete control over student access and available tools, ensuring all AI interactions support specific learning objectives.
Data Privacy Protection
No retention of student data by the AI system, ensuring privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
Built-in Responsibility Reminders
The platform includes built-in reminders about responsible use and privacy protection to guide students.
Education-Focused Design
Curated, education-focused AI tools designed specifically for K-12 learning environments and age-appropriate use.
📚Student Preparation and Ethics
Before any student uses AI tools, they will receive thorough education about ethical considerations, potential risks, and appropriate use guidelines. Students will understand that AI serves as a starting point for learning—not a substitute for their own thinking and creativity.
Academic Integrity Focus
Our existing academic integrity policies fully address AI use, ensuring students understand the difference between appropriate assistance and academic dishonesty. This education is essential for preparing students to navigate AI responsibly in their future academic and professional lives.
✨Enhancing Learning Opportunities
This technology will help our teachers provide more personalized learning experiences, support diverse learners, and free up time for meaningful student interaction. AI tools may assist students with:
- Brainstorming ideas for creative projects and problem-solving
- Explaining complex concepts in different ways to support understanding
- Providing feedback on their work to guide improvement
- Supporting diverse learning styles with personalized approaches
All AI assistance will always be under teacher guidance and for specific educational purposes.
Supporting Every Student's Learning Journey
We remain committed to our core belief that highly qualified educators with high expectations are the most important factor in student success. AI simply provides another tool in their arsenal to support every student's learning journey.
