Hoping you are all well! This is certainly not the way I had hoped to end this school year, but I remain confident that we can still end the year successfully! I am here to support students and parents in any way that I can. Below, I will outline the expectations for online learning and my schedule for virtual teaching and office hours.
What are the expectations for online learning?
Students are expected to complete one math and one ELA lesson per day. Math instruction takes place daily from 10:00 – 11:00 am. ELA instruction takes place daily from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. I will be present during these times to help and guide students as needed. If students are not able to access the lessons at these times, they will be recorded for them to complete throughout the day. All assignments will be posted on our Microsoft Teams page. I’m confident that all students in the class will know how to find this, but if there are questions please let me know! I am also available for parents and students during virtual office hours from 09:00 – 10:00 am and 2:00 – 3:00 pm. I can be contacted through Microsoft Teams, ClassDojo or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) during these times.
What should we do now?
Please complete the work in your blue folder. These assignments are for the week of 31st March – 3rd April and cover ELA and math. Each assignment is dated so you know what to do each day. I will be online during the times I have previously mentioned to help, support and check-in with all students. This work will be a review...let’s start nice and slow! Also be on the lookout for lessons from specials teachers (Music, Art, PE and Media). These lessons will also be posted on our class Teams Page.
Where can I find the online lessons?
Please have students go to our Microsoft Team page. Find the most recent post from me and see what the lesson will entail for that day. Sometimes you will see an invitation for a meeting (live lesson), a FlipGrid video or directions for another task.
When do the online lessons start?
Online lessons shall begin on Monday 6th April. Please be present at 10:00 am on April 6 for our math lesson. We will be working on adding and subtracting fractions.
What if I still have questions?
Please contact me! I’m sure you have many (so do I!) and I will get back to you as soon as possible! Please do not hesitate to contact me with even the smallest query or questions about strategies, skills or anything else that pops up! Email, Dojo or a message on Teams are the best ways you can contact me. I will certainly miss seeing all my students every day!
