I am very excited to be on the ground floor of reorganizing the Onslow Virtual Elementary School for the 2021-22 school year.  I graduated from Jacksonville High School (Go Cards!) and received my Bachelor's from UNCW in French. I was one of the first North Carolina Teaching Fellows in the state.  I went back to JHS to teach for 13 years before completing my MSA through ECU and becoming the assistant principal of Richlands Primary School.  I later moved to Southwest High School as an assistant principal amd completed my Educational Specialist degree.  I then became the principal of Blue Creek Elementary.  I was there five years and during that time I was awarded the Onlsow County Principal of the Year in 2012.  I went on to become the Southeast Prinicpal of the Year that same year and competed for the state title.  Soon after I moved on to Stateside Elementary for a year and then to Dixon Elementary for 7 years.  In 2017 I was awarded the UNCW Distinguished Alumni Award for the Watson School of Education.  Now in my twilight years I have landed in the virtual world.  I am very much looking forward to sharpening my saw and learning new skills to ensure that our virtual students receiive a world-class online learning environment with positive academic outcomes.
