Mr. Bryant York

My name is Bryant York.  I am one of the staff members here at Northside High School.  I have been involved in Career and Technical Education for 25 years.  I completed my Undergraduate and Masters Studies from East Carolina University, earning a Bachelors of Industrial Engineering and a Masters in School Administration.  In addition, I attended Coastal Carolina Community College and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  Two of my proudest moments in life are my 2 daughters.  My oldest is enrolled at UNCW and my youngest is employed locally.

I started my educational career as a lateral entry high school Architecture and Engineering teacher.  I also have served as an Instructional Support Coordinator at the Central Office level, Career Development Coordinator, Career & Technical Education Department Chairperson at the school level, and as the Information Technology and Engineering Academy Director.  In 2002, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction gave me the opportunity to work on the Architectural Drafting Curriculum for the state of North Carolina, and allowed me to present at the North Carolina Career & Technical Education Summer Conference.  I was also one of the first Computer Engineering Technology Instructors in North Carolina and was given the privilege of offering staff development to the teachers in Arkansas.

My military career started shortly after high school when I joined the Army National Guard. While in the North Carolina National Guard, I attended Officer Candidate School and received my commission in 1992.  I held positions as a Platoon Leader and Detachment Commander.

I am looking forward to this awesome opportunity here at Northside High School.
