Degrees and Certifications:
Hello, and welcome to my teacher page!
My name is Natalie Youngs. I had the opportunity to work in Mooresville Intermediate School which has the honor of being nationally recognized for integrating technology into classroom instruction. When given the opportunity to join the Dixon Elementary School family, I did not hesitate to take the chance to become a part of this vibrant school community. I am excited to continue working as part of the Dixon education team. I am looking forward to this year where I will continue to help my students become more confident in math and in their leadership abilities!
My Background . . .
Before I started teaching, I pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering at UNC Charlotte. After three years of study, I discovered I got more joy tutoring my classmates than I did building machines! I followed my new passion to a teaching opportunity at Excella School in Kigali, Rwanda. I taught math and science to local students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. This solidified my love for teaching that is still going strong today. I seek to bring my knowledge and international experience into the classroom and help inspire students on how they can make an impact in the world at large. I never short change my students and always set high expectations for them.
My Experience . . .
I have three years of classroom experience. I have taught all subjects in 4th grade and integrated technology into instruction. I also have experience teaching math and science from my time in Rwanda to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. I am very excited to catch the wave with the rest of my Dixon students! I am currently teaching 2nd grade.
My Education . . .
I am a highly qualified elementary school teacher. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a concentration in Mathematics.
