Mrs. Susie Carter
Hello Everyone,
My name is Susie Carter. I am your Math 3 teacher. I have been teaching for over 30 years. This is my 2nd year here at Dixon and I am proud to be a BULL DOG. I have 2 children and just welcomed my 8th grandchild a couple of weeks ago. I love teaching. I always have.
This semester I am teaching Math 3. Math 3 is a high school mathematics course designed for students who have successfully acquired and mastered basic Algebra and Geometry skills. In this course, we will discuss linear and quadratic equations and their graphs, functions, polynomials, rational expressions, and basic data analysis. We will also discuss the topics of exponential and logarithmic functions, geometry, and basic trigonometric functions. Appropriate technology will be used on a daily basis for instruction and assessment. Honors Math 3 students will use their knowledge throughout the course to apply it to higher-level thinking mathematical problems. The general objectives of this class are to prepare for college, strengthen mathematical and problem-solving skills, and encourage higher-order thinking. This is an honor’s class. It is taught rigorously and at a predetermined pace. Students must keep up or find themselves in serious academic jeopardy.
