Ms. Sonia Rivera

Hola! My name is Sonia Rivera. I am puertorriquena (puertorican) from Morovis, Puerto Rico. I am a proud mother of two sons and a happy grandmother of five. I have a B.A. in English at secondary level and certified in Spanish. I started working as an English Teacher in Puerto Rico since 2005 through 2011. In 2015-16, I taught Spanish in Northwoods Park Middle School. In 2018-2021, I started working in Indiana as a substitute teacher in elementary school level due to personal reasons. It was a totally new experience for me, and I enjoyed working with K-5 levels so much that I changed my mind and decided to work in elementary level instead. In June of 2021, Thankfully, I started working as an Interim Spanish Teacher in C.F.I.E.S. from 2021-2022 and currently, I am part of this wonderful team of DLI Teachers. My passion is to teach. I believe in perseverence. My strength: my faith. My weakness: getting too attached to the children :-)
