Degrees and Certifications:
I am the Technology Specials leader at Coastal Elementary School. It is my goal to encourage students to expand their knowledge of technology and what it can do to make them more successful in today's world. My husband is an active duty service member, therefore we have moved often. We were previously stationed in Twentynine Palms, CA for over three years before returning to Camp Lejeune, NC in July 2021. I worked at Condor Elementary School in the Morongo Unified School District in Twentynine Palms as the Computer Lab Instructional Assistant. I thoroughly enjoyed my years at Condor and was excited to bring my skills and experience to the East coast.
I have three kids at home; Wyatt (12), Izzy (14), Emma (15). We have 2 dogs named Baby and Belle, and 2 cats named Miss Bits and Baby Cat. I am an avid shark tooth collector. I have teeth that I have found at Onslow Beach that range in size from a small speck to several inches long (Yes, I have a megaladon tooth!!) I love Pepsi and Chipotle! My family has traveled across the country several times and have been fortunate to have visited places like Joshua Tree National Park, Mt. Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, the Golden Gate Bridge and so much more. We enjoy being a military family!
As the Technology Specials Teacher Assistant, I will provide lessons and real world applications of technology for the students. We will focus on increasing keyboarding skills, learning new programs such as Sway and Flipgrid as well as Microsoft Word basics. Students have expressed an interest in coding and basic programming skills. We will be starting an intro to a coding lesson in the spring.
I look forward to what this school year has in store for all of us! I am excited to be a part of the Coastal Elementary School team!
