Ms. Diana Deuel
“Meet the Teacher”
Hi, my name is Diana Deuel and I am very excited to be your child's teacher! I am blessed to be at such a great school and teach fabulous first graders. We are going to have a lot of first grade fun this year!
I graduated from The College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. I received a BS in Elementary Education with a Minor in American Sign Language. I am hoping to move forward with my Sign Language progress and hope one day I can work as an interpreter in schools.
Last year was my first year of teaching elementary school. I taught 5th grade here at Carolina Forest but decided I would try out working with younger kiddos this year!
A Bit About Me:
I grew up in Minnesota, graduated from high school in 2016 and moved to Duluth, Minnesota for College. While I was there, I fell in love with the outdoors, rugby, and teaching. Duluth is right along the shore of Lake Superior and is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! I am very passionate about bringing children outdoors and educating them about how we can support the earth. I love camping, hiking and swimming. I spend my summers in Northern Minnesota at Sawbill Canoe Outfitters in Tofte, Minnesota. It is right on the edge of the Boudary Waters Canoe Area, which is a national wilderness area!
I have two great places to call home and having my family as my support system! My parents live in Minnesota, my brother lives in Indiana, and my sister lives in Idaho at Mountain Home Airforce base. I found my way to Jacksonville because my brother was a Marine but he has moved on to a new lifestyle in the last year! I chose to stick around because I love everything that Carolina Forest has to offer!
Here are a few of my other favorites:
Favorite Color: Yellow and red
Favorite Food: Crackers & Cheese, and Baked Goods
Favorite Drinks: Iced Coffee and Fresca
Favorite Book: Harry Potter
Favorite Movie: Avengers or most Disney
Favorite Restaurants: Anywhere that has gyros, Panda Express, and Texas Roadhouse
I am looking forward to seeing you each and every day, and I hope you are ready for many memorable adventures in first grade!
