Greetings Silverdale families,

   My name is Mr. Martins, and I am your child's Physical Education teacher. I am a native of Queens Village, New York. After I graduated from High School, I immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman. My duties have taken me all around the world throughout the entirety of my career. After twenty years of honorable active service, I retired and decided to become a Physical Education teacher. I attended Wilson Community College in Wilson, North Carolina, where I received my Associates of Arts degree in General Education. Shortly after graduating from Community College, I transferred to East Carolina University, where I graduated Cum Laude and received my Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. My wife and I live in Swansboro and have three terrific children, two of whom are twin fifteen-year-old boys, and our daughter, who is twelve. We also have two pets, one which is an eight-year-old boxer,and the other is a rescue cat that is 4 years old. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family kayaking, fishing, and going to family-filled fun events. My hobbies include wood working, landscaping, and most of all, exercising. I am passionate about teaching others, especially children, about the importance of health and well-being, which they can use all throughout their lives. I'm looking forward to this new school year to teach your child new, fun, and exciting ways to enjoy Physical Education.
