Mr. Eric LeFurge

Greetings Gator Nation!

I'm Mr. LeFurge and I am incredibly excited about the school year!  I was born in Seoul, Korea and was adopted when I was 4 months old.  I grew up in the small town of Chelsea, Michigan, (which is 15 minutes west of the University of Michigan).  Teaching is something that I have always wanted to do since I was young.  I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education, focusing on math and physics.  I obtained my Graduate degree in Instructional Technology in 2014 from East Carolina University.

This will be my 22nd year teaching.  I taught middle school for the first 5 years before moving to Jacksonville, NC.  I taught 13 years in Onslow County before I moved to Duplin County for 2 years and Craven County for 1 year.  I am returning to Onslow County, hopefully, to finish out my teaching career.

I have been married for 21 years and my wife and I have 2 children.  My wife was a teacher, but she has found her niche working for a daycare.  My son will be a 7th grader at New Bridge Middle and my daughter will be a 5th grader at Parkwood Elementary.  When I'm not teaching, you can probably find me on the soccer field.  I recently retired for a 3rd time from coaching soccer and decided it was time to enjoy watching my son play.  I am a Garfield freak!  You will see lots of Garfield around my classroom.  I also love penguins!  I know this is going to be a great year!!!  If you have any questions or thoughts, please don't hesitate to contact me!
