About Me

Growing by the Jersey shore, I fell in love with living near the ocean. My childhood was filled with anything water related; swimming was my favorite thing to do. So much so that I swam for the Seton Hall University team where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education and Environmental Studies. After college, I taught Resource in Toms River, NJ and coached swimming at the local YMCA. In 2019, I decided to make a huge change and move down to Wilmington, NC to continue my career as a Sustained Support K-2 teacher in Pender County. My boyfriend Zach and I moved our dog and two cats to Jacksonville this year.

Education

I graduated from Seton Hall University in South Orange in 2014, NJ where I swam during my education. I received a degree in Elementary and Special Education as well as Environmental Studies. I am currently attending Grand Canyon University for my Masters in Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Experience:

Since graduating in 2014, I have had many different experiences in the education field. In New Jersey, I taught in a Resource Classroom. When I moved to North Carolina, I ran a K-2 Sustained Support (General Separate) classroom. This is my first year in an Adaptive Classroom.

In highschool, I volunteered as a swim coach for our local Special Olympics team. After 5 years, I knew that working with Special Needs children was my passion.
