I grew up moving from country to country with my father's job with the State Department.  I came back to the US and went to college at Drew University where I earned my B.A. in Psychology.  I completed my Master's Degree in Counseling at Xavier University in Cincinnati.  My original plan was to become a Mental Health Therapist but I was drawn into the education field and that is where my heart is.  I worked in Early Childhood Education for the last 24 years as a Teacher, Director, and Primary Service Coordinator for Early Intervention.  This is my first year teaching in Elementary School.

My husband, Jim and I just moved to the area after spending the last 15 years raising our children in Raleigh.  Our daughter, Nicki graduated from App State and is now fully independent!  Our son, Scott is still in college.  We have four dogs (two great danes, a weimaraner and a French bulldog). I also have a horse named Khana. 

I am looking forward to this next adventure!  I thoroughly believe that learning is a lifelong journey.
