Hello Pirates! I'm Ms. Hargis, and this is my first year at Swansboro High School. I will be teaching all Earth and Environmental Science classes this year, so bring on the freshmen!

I previously taught 8th grade Science in Craven County and High School Science in West Virginia, which is where I'm originally from. I moved to Morehead City in 2020 because I wanted to be close to the beach. I have a B.S. in Animal Science from West Virginia University and a Masters in Teaching Life Science from Western Governors University. I am currently back in another Masters program for Chemistry, so needless to say, I really like Science!

In my spare time, I like to go to the beach with my boyfriend and our three crazy dogs (Kira, Ferdinand, and Callie) and look for seashells and fossils. I also love cooking and gardening. I'm somewhat of a crazy plant lady. =)

I love sports, especially soccer and tennis, which I played throughout high school. Also, I have recently taken up golf, which I absolutely love.
