Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson

Hello!

My name is Elizabeth Thompson. I am a Math and Science teacher for the UNC Wilmington Team for 6th grade. 

As a teacher, I encourage students to persevere, problem solve and develop critical thinking skills. I want students to not just give up when they come to something they don't know, but to research, ask questions, and dig deeper. 

I have been an educator for 8 years. I have taught in both Durham and Wake County, and now Onslow. I have a passion for working with students and leading them to their "Aha" Moment!

I have been teaching for 8  years, and am a North Carolina transplant. I went to college at Liberty University where I graduated with a Bachelors of Science: Elementary Education with a focus in Science. I have a North Carolina Teaching License for K-6 and am certified for Middle Grade Science.  I love being a teacher, and working with students. I have always had a passion for Science and seeing the students' faces when things finally click for them. I know that not every student learns the same way and at the same pace. I strive to meet them where they are and to help them grow. I hope to pass on my passion for learning and to push them to want more.
