Mr. Patton
I am originally from Maryland and joined the Marine Corps in 1982. During the first 17 years of service, I was assigned as a motor transport operator. During the last part of my career, I served as a military instructor for the Staff Noncommissioned Officer (SNCO) Academy in Camp Pendleton California. My final assignment was initially as a curriculum developer for the Enlisted Professional Military Education Branch of Marine Corps University. Subsequently, I was assigned as an academics supervisor for all six SNCO academies. Upon my retirement, I was hired as a civil service employee as the Dean of Academics for the Enlisted Professional Military Education Branch, Marine Corps University. My active duty service was comprised of over 24 years with an additional four years as a civil service employee.
During 2010, my wife and I decided to leave the Washington, DC area and return to her hometown of Jacksonville, NC. I spent the next two years being actively retired and volunteering at Stateside Elementary. I started working for Onslow County Schools in 2012, and previously worked at Stateside Elementary and Southwest Elementary. I am a teacher's assistant for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades and super-excited to be a part of the Clear View team starting a new school.
I am a licensed minister through the National Christian Church and my wife and I are also the founders of a local, non-profit organization that provides assistance for the homeless. While we are quite busy, my family and I enjoy spending time at the beach, especially at Topsail Island - our favorite get-away destination for the weekends.
We have four daughters, three grandsons, one granddaughter and another grandbaby on the way!
