Degrees and Certifications:

Melisa Browning

This year will be my 35th year in education!  I graduated from Barton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education of the Hearing Impaired with a concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies.  Later, I attended University of North Carolina Charlotte and received my Masters degree in Middle School English Language Arts.  I taught for 31 years, most of those years at Trexler Middle School in 7th grade ELA and the AVID elective. In 2003, I became a National Certified Teacher.   I retired from teaching in 2018, and in 2019 I accepted a position as a part time Title 1 Instructional Coach here at New Bridge.  Go Bears!

I have lived in Onslow County for 35 years.  My husband is from Richlands and is currently the Assistant Principal at White Oak High School.  We have two children, Alex who is married to Christina and Megan, who is married to Austin.    My son works in finance and my daughter is a third grade teacher in Greensboro.  We also have one grandson, Rush, who is the joy of my life.
