Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kimberly Ward
Dear Parent or Guardian, Welcome to our Second Grade Family!
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your child this year. This is my eighth year teaching at Jacksonville Commons Elementary School, and my twelfth year teaching. I grew up in Florida, and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in elementary education. I moved to North Carolina after I married my husband who got out of the Marine Corps after serving for eight years. He continues to work on base as a contractor. We have two daughters. One will be five in November and we are celebrating my youngest’s first birthday in September!
I love my job, and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside such wonderful children day in and day out. I believe a classroom should be a safe haven for students in which their creativity and individuality is celebrated. I strive to make my students feel like they are part of a family in which we build upon each other’s differences and engage in meaningful learning. I expect my students to come to school each day prepared and equipped with a positive attitude! 😊
If you ever have any comments, questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone, email, or a note sent with your child. I am available most days before or after school. I will also connect with you through class dojo.
