Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Brittney Hernandez

Hello! My name is Brittney Hernandez, and I am so proud to be a part of Silverdale Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. This will be my first-year teaching Kindergarten at Silverdale. I am married to my husband, Anthony, and we have 3 wonderful boys. My oldest, Nolan, is in the 7th grade; Everett is in 3rd grade here at Silverdale, and Neil is almost 2.

I worked in Early Childhood Education for 12 years prior to accepting a job as a teacher’s assistant in 2019 here at Silverdale. I decided to pursue my teaching degree during that time as well. I recently graduated from Gardner Webb University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I also hold an associate degree in elementary and special education from Lenoir Community College.

Growing up, I was very active in sports, including softball and volleyball. I played 2 years of JUCO volleyball at Lenoir Community College. Sports have always been a part of my life and still are today. I play adult co-ed volleyball every summer and adult co-ed softball in the fall. Outside of sports, I love gardening, spoiling my chickens and fishing with my family.

I look forward to helping your child grow a love for learning!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions via my email, or via school phone at 910-326-5146

I will also be using Class Dojo as a form of communication with parents and guardians. Our class newsletter, and pictures of the students will be posted there weekly via Smore. This way you can be kept up to date with what we have going on in the classroom! Feel free to message me anytime!
