Ms. Anna Maxwell

I was born in Asheville, North Carolina and resided there until I was about 8 years old. My family relocated to Florida and that is where I have resided since I was around 9 years old. I am a mother of two boys, 17 and 10. I have been teaching for 21 years. My interests are watching WWE Wrestling, reading, and going to the beach! I love hanging out with my friends and family in any spare time.

I am a huge Disney fan and Harry Potter fan. I love going to theme parks. My favorite actors are Johnny Depp and Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson. I love the profession that I have chosen and couldn't imagine myself doing anything else!

I attended Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida for my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I graduated with my Bachelor's in 2003. In 2013, I decided to return to school to complete my Masters in Educational Leadership. I completed my Masters through Saint Leo's online program. I graduated from the Masters program in 2015.

I have been in the field of education for 20 years. For the first 12 years of teaching, I taught at Wesley Chapel Elementary School for the first 12 years. At Wesley Chapel, I taught third, fourth, and fifth grade, with the majority of my experience being in fifth grade.

The last two years in Pasco County, I taught at Centennial Elementary School. Here I spent one year as their SSAP (Graduation Enhancement Teacher/Drop Out Prevention). In this position, I made connections and built a rapport with students who were at risk for attendance, academics, or behavior. Last year, I taught 3/4 of a year in 1st grade and was then asked to move up to a 4th grade classroom because of my experience with intermediate students.

Here in Onslow County, I taught at Blue Creek in 5th grade from the years of 2017-2022. This year, I took a growth opportunity and accepted a position as an Instructional Coach at Parkwood Elementary.
