It is my privilege to serve as the Principal of Swansboro Middle School. Being a middle school student these days is not an easy feat, but I am confident that if we work together, our students will thrive.
To share a little about my educational background, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2002. After teaching middle grades for four years, I decided to go back to college to pursue my dream of becoming a principal. I graduated from Western Carolina in 2008 with a Graduate degree in School Administration. I have served as an assistant principal for eight years, serving at Sycamore Lane Middle, New Bridge Middle and Dixon Elementary. For the last seven years, I have served as the principal of Swansboro Elementary. I am excited about returning to my middle school roots and am looking forward to working together with this wonderful community to do amazing things for our students.
On a personal note, I enjoy spending time outdoors (especially at the beach) and love being a mom to three wonderful children (McKay, Rylee and JP). I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with the students, staff and community of Swansboro Middle. Please do not hesitate to contact me throughout the year; a positive home and school partnership is critical to student success!
