Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Arts in English, University of Michigan-Flint Secondary Teaching Certification in English and Social Studies- Western Carolina University Master of Arts in History, Adams State University
I am originally from Michigan and earned my Bachelors degree in English with a minor in History from the University of Michigan-Flint. After moving to North Carolina, I obtained my teaching certification from Western Carolina University, and most recently a Masters Degree in History from Adams State University. I have lived in Japan and Germany and feel confident that my skills as an educator have benefited from the time I have spent in other cultures. I prioritize being a lifelong learner and constantly pursue new skills and knowledge, both inside and outside of the classroom, and I encourage students to do the same.
I live in Jacksonville with my husband, who is retiring from the United States Marine Corps, and two children, Kieran and Lochlan. We love to spend time outdoors.
