Dr. Beth Folger

  • Dr. Beth Folger, is a native North Carolinian and a proud 27 year veteran of public education. During her career she has served as a middle school math and science teacher, an elementary teacher, a professional development coach and a director of quality education. Dr. Folger served as a principal and associate superintendent in Perry, Ohio before returning to NC as the Chief Academic Officer in Guilford County.  In 2015, she relocated to Onslow County Schools and served as the Chief of Community Affairs before being named the Deputy Superintendent in 2016.

    Throughout her career, she has focused on advocacy for children, families, and teachers.  She has participated in various district, state and national committees on educational issues and has served as an adjunct professor at UNCG.  Dr. Folger serves on several non-profit boards with a child-centered focus and believes giving back in this manner is critically important for the profession and community.

    She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Ashland University, her Masters in School Administration at University of NC – Greensboro, and her Bachelors of Science at UNC-Chapel Hill.  Dr. Folger was recognized by the Council of Great City Schools as the National Curriculum Leader in 2011, the NC Association for Scholastic Activities Administrator of the Year in 2012, and the NC Association for Supervision of Curriculum Development Distinguished Educator in 2019.
