Dr. Beth Folger
Beth Folger, Deputy Superintendent of School Dr. Beth Folger, is a native North Carolinian who moved to Onslow County in 2015. She has worked for more than 26 years in public education advocating for children and families. She taught middle school math and science and elementary grades 3-5 before becoming a professional development coach and later a director of quality education in Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools. She served as a principal and associate superintendent in Perry, Ohio before returning to Guilford County, NC as the Middle School Improvement Officer before being named the Chief Academic Officer in 2008. In 2016, Superintendent Rick Stout appointed Dr. Folger as the deputy superintendent. As the deputy, Beth oversees PreK-12 Instruction, Research and Accountability, Human Resources, and Leadership Development. Through her career, she has participated in various district, state and national committees on educational issues and has served as an adjunct professor at UNCG. Dr. Folger serves on several non-profit boards with a childcentered focus and believes giving back in this manner is critically important for the quality of life in Eastern NC. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Ashland University, her Masters in School Administration at University of NC – Greensboro, and her Bachelors of Science at UNC-Chapel Hill.
